How much does it cost to hire a vehicle?

What do I need to hire a vehicle?

A current driving licence (not provisional) must be produced by the driver at the time of hiring, two proofs of address (dated within three months) and a DVLA licence check code.

Is insurance included in the hire?

Insurance for one driver is included in our rental rates. Customers may also arrange their own insurance. It must be fully comprehensive cover, and we require to see the policy or cover note and be advised of the current excess amount. Charges apply for additional drivers.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

A refundable deposit is taken. This will be used towards extra charges such as fuel, loss of parts, late return, damage by misuse, theft or insurance claims. The deposit taken is £250. Recovery vehicles have a higher deposit which is available on request.

How long can I hire a vehicle for?

Vehicles can be rented for half a day on some categories of vehicles, and others 24 hour blocks at collection times of your choosing in line with our opening hours. So if you need to collect an item from DIY store and need it just for a couple of hours we can help.

Is there a mileage limit?

The hire rates are calculated to include a mileage allowance of up to 300 miles per day and 1800 miles per week.

Can I add another driver?

Yes, our vehicles can be driven by additional drivers.

What is your fuel policy?

What ever the amount the vehicle goes out with, it needs to be returned with the same amount.

What happens if I return the vehicle late?

If the vehicle is returned late, you may be charged for the additional time, this will be taken out of the deposit paid.

Can I cancel my booking?

We will in most cases allow our customers to cancel a booking without making a charge if its more than 24hrs, if it’s within a 24hr period we allow the booking to be moved. However, this is not always possible on our more specialist vehicles such as MPVs, Minibuses, Tippers, HGVs and Recovery Trucks.
